Canyon Partners Real Estate is expanding its lending platform and has recruited Chad Goodman from Related Fund Management. Goodman will serve as Head of Credit Originations for opportunistic investments in the Eastern and Central regions of the USA.
Goodman took up his position in Canyon Partners' New York office. Previously, he spent six years at Related Fund Management, where he originated loans for opportunistic and transitional investment strategies.
Expansion of Regional Lending Capabilities
Jacob Feingold, Partner and Head of Originations at Canyon Partners Real Estate, stated in a release that Mr Goodman brings extensive experience in originating and structuring complex real estate investments across various market cycles. This expertise, he added, makes him a valuable addition to the company's growing lending platform.
The expansion of origination capabilities in the Midwest and Eastern USA is intended to enable Canyon to deepen relationships with borrowers and sponsors. Before his time at Related, which began in March 2020, Goodman spent nearly twelve years at Westport Capital Partners. There, he worked on lending transactions across various US real estate sectors. Furthermore, he was employed by Bear Stearns in the areas of mortgage-backed securities and structured products.
Continuous Team Strengthening
Goodman's appointment follows other strategic hires at Canyon Partners. Just in June, Scott Swisher joined the company from Acore Capital as Managing Director and Head of Western Region Credit Originations. Additionally, Adam Ostrowsky was appointed Managing Director of Capital Markets from Mack Real Estate Group, and Scott San Filippo became Senior Director of Bridge Debt from Heitman.
