FOX Living, a subsidiary of FOX Real Estate, is continuing its investment strategy in the student housing segment. The company has acquired a development plot from the Lindhorst Group in Hanover's "Weichenviertel" district. This building plot A1, located at Fuhsestraße and Einbecker Straße, is earmarked for the construction of a residential complex with approximately 320 apartments. The target group includes students, trainees, and young professionals.
The project envisages a gross floor area of around 11,000 square metres. The planned apartments are described as compact and equipped to a high standard, designed to meet the specific requirements of student and urban living. Construction is projected to commence in the second quarter of 2027, with completion in the third quarter of 2028.
Mr. Mathias Grüning, Managing Director of FOX Living, commented on the acquisition. He stated that with the acquisition of this plot in the Weichenviertel, the company has secured an attractive location to expand its portfolio in the student housing sector. Hanover is one of Germany's leading university cities and boasts an economically dynamic environment as well as a constant demand for modern student accommodation. With the planned number of approximately 320 apartments, a contemporary housing offering is to be created that addresses the needs of the aforementioned target groups.
FOX Living identifies a long-term attractive demand for Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in Germany. The transaction in Hanover secures another strategic location within a German university market and contributes to the systematic continuation of building a scalable platform. This acquisition aligns with the company's strategic orientation to establish a portfolio at selected German university locations. In addition to developing new build projects, the company also evaluates the repurposing of suitable existing buildings.
FOX Living's medium-term goal is the annual development of up to 1,000 apartments. The company's current project pipeline, with projects in Braunschweig, Osnabrück, and now Hanover, already comprises several locations in German university markets, totalling approximately 1,000 units under implementation. This demonstrates the consistent realisation of the planned portfolio build-up. Legal advice for FOX Living on this transaction was provided by the law firm Walch, Rittberg und Nagel.
