GARBE Industrial, a developer, provider and manager of logistics, industrial and commercial properties in Germany and Europe, and BREMER Projektentwicklung have sold the jointly realised multi-user park in the Duisburg district of Meiderich to Redevco. The transaction was completed on 16 September 2026. Silence was maintained regarding the agreed purchase price. The properties were built on the former "Zeus site" and comprise a total area of almost 29,500 square metres.
For the realisation of the project, an industrial brownfield site covering approximately 56,000 square metres was remediated and prepared for new commercial use. BREMER acted as both a joint venture partner and general contractor. The park's primary tenants are from the e-commerce sector.
Peter Bartholomäus, CIO at GARBE Industrial, commented on the transaction, stating that the sale successfully concludes the development of the former industrial brownfield site into a modern multi-user park. He emphasised that the signing of the transaction within the six-week exclusivity period underscores the significant interest in the property, the potential of the location, and the professionalism of both parties in conducting the process.
Location and Sustainability Aspects
The location in Duisburg-Meiderich boasts excellent connections to the supra-regional road network. The A 59 runs in the immediate vicinity, while the Duisburg-Nord motorway interchange with access to the A 42 is only a few hundred metres away. The A 2 can also be reached via the A 42, which highlights the park's logistical appeal.
The three constructed buildings feature 6,380 photovoltaic modules on their roofs, generating a total output of 2.647 megawatt peak. Heating is provided by heat pumps, thereby eliminating the need for fossil fuels. GARBE Industrial and BREMER aim for a Gold standard certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the multi-user park.
Bernd Jungholt, Managing Director at BREMER Projektentwicklung, highlighted that the close integration of development and construction was advantageous for this project. As a joint venture partner and general contractor, it was possible to coordinate and implement decisions quickly and cost-effectively. This was a significant advantage, particularly for a multi-user project with heterogeneous usage requirements on a complex brownfield site.
