Harrison Street Asset Management recently bolstered its staff by hiring three more specialists from PGIM Real Estate. Jon Glass will join the company as Managing Director for its healthcare real estate platform. These appointments follow previous strategic hires from the same firm, indicating a targeted personnel strategy.
In addition to Jon Glass, Michael Corsini and Hardie Jackson have been hired to lead asset management operations in the healthcare and senior housing segment. All three come from PGIM Real Estate, the firm from which Harrison Street previously recruited Dan Fanelli, the new Co-Head of the Investor Solutions Group.
Focus on senior housing segments
Ben Mohns, Global Head of Asset Management and Real Estate at Harrison Street, commented on the new hires in a statement. He emphasised that the additions of Jon, Michael and Hardie reflect the company's continued commitment to investing in outstanding talent as it expands its senior housing platform.
For the past eight years, Jon Glass was responsible for the asset management strategy of PGIM's senior housing portfolio and will serve in a similar role as Managing Director at Harrison Street, alongside Brandon Metzler. Michael Corsini and Hardie Jackson will act as Senior Associates at Harrison Street. A request to PGIM for a statement went unanswered.
Mohns highlighted that the new employees bring an exceptional track record in managing institutional-grade senior housing portfolios. Their expertise will strengthen the company's asset management capabilities, particularly at a time when the sector benefits from promising demographic developments and growing investor interest.
Long-term commitment to healthcare
The senior housing sector represents a key focus for Harrison Street. Over its roughly 20-year history, the company has invested $16 billion in this area and acquired 46,000 units. This underscores the strategic importance Harrison Street places on this asset class and its efforts to further expand its market position through targeted staff increases.
