he Effingham County Treasurer's Office is mailing 2024 real estate tax bills today, August 1st. These bills are due and payable in 2025. The first installment payment deadline is September 5th, while the second installment payment deadline is October 17th.

    To make payments, residents can use one of several options: pay at most local banks, mail a check to the Treasurer's Office, pay in person at the office, or make an online payment through effinghamcountyil.gov/treasurer. However, a credit card convenience fee will be added for payments made with a credit/debit card or echeck.

    The Effingham County Treasurer's Office is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This year, the office mailed out 26,066 tax bills, totaling $74,509,114.88 in taxes extended for all taxing districts.
