new affordable housing complex is proposed for 258 28th Street in Oakland, Alameda County. The project will replace a vacant two-story apartment building near Broadway and rise to six floors. Gunkel Architecture has filed the preliminary permits.
The development aims to provide fully affordable housing with 23 units, including studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. Residents will be within walking distance of Lake Merritt and the 19th Street BART Station. The property is located in the Broadway Valdez District Specific Plan area.
Strive Real Estate LLC owns the property, which is currently a vacant lot at the end of 28th Street.
