O
ren and Tal Alexander, prominent luxury real-estate agents from a wealthy Florida family, were charged with federal sex-trafficking crimes on Wednesday along with their brother Alon. The brothers are accused of using their wealth and influence to drug, sexually assault, and rape women in a scheme that lasted over a decade. Oren and Alon were also separately charged in Florida with sexual battery.
The Alexander family is well-known for their real-estate business and private security firm. Oren and Tal started their careers at Douglas Elliman, where they became "The Alexander Team" and handled high-end deals in New York and Florida. They broke records for the most expensive single-family home sold in Miami and represented the buyer in the most expensive US home sale ever.
Allegations of sexual misconduct against the brothers surfaced in June when two women filed civil lawsuits accusing them of rape. The FBI began investigating, and more lawsuits followed with similar accusations. Over a dozen women had accused the brothers of rape or assault as of September. Lawyers for Alon Alexander said he will plead not guilty, while lawyers for Tal and Oren did not comment on the charges.
