Arctos Enters Real Estate, Diversifies into Tangible Assets

Dallas-based Arctos expands investment focus to real asset investing beyond sports and alternative assets.

D
allas-based investment firm Arctos is expanding its reach beyond sports franchises and alternative asset management with a new focus on real asset investing. The company has formed the Arctos Keystone Real Asset (AK-RA) team, comprised of four executives from Crow Holdings: Ira Shaw as partner, Gina Spiegel as partner, Greg Lombardi as managing director, and Robert DiGiovine as vice president.

The AK-RA team brings extensive experience in investing in direct real estate, secondaries, structured solutions, GP stakes equity, and preferred equity. This seasoned group will operate independently from Keystone Private Equity, which partners with leading alternative investment managers. Ian Charles, co-founder and co-managing partner at Arctos, notes that the new unit will provide real assets managers with a thought partner and flexible capital to help them innovate and scale during a period of significant industry transformation.

The AK-RA team is focused on identifying partnership opportunities with real estate and real asset owners, operators, developers, and sponsors. The group will be based in Arctos' upcoming Boston office. This expansion comes as more institutional allocators are investing in real estate and real assets to diversify their private market portfolios.

Shaw and Spiegel, both seasoned veterans in the real estate market, have joined Arctos with nearly two decades of experience each. They aim to deliver value for partners and investors through creative problem-solving, data-driven insights, and transaction structuring. The AK-RA team will focus on the real estate and digital infrastructure sectors, providing access to high-quality assets while solving liquidity and growth challenges faced by real assets sponsors, operators, and developers.

Arctos Keystone Partners Fund I is a private equity fund that offers comprehensive liquidity, working capital, and financing solutions to alternative asset managers, funds, and portfolio assets of funds. The expansion into real estate and real assets reinforces Arctos' ability to serve as a long-term, value-added partner across private markets.
