xonic Capital, a real estate-focused investment manager with $6 billion in assets under management, has appointed James "JJ" Jordan as a Partner. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Jordan previously led the North American Commercial Real Estate and Structured Credit team at Taconic Capital for over a decade.
"We see significant opportunities in the CRE market as it undergoes transformation," said Clayton DeGiacinto, Axonic Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer. "JJ's expertise will be invaluable to us as we navigate this pivotal moment." Matthew Weinstein, Axonic Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer, added that Jordan's leadership and deep relationships will help drive growth.
Jordan will join a well-established commercial real estate franchise at Axonic, which includes commercial lending, agency and non-agency CMBS, and opportunistic equity. He will work closely with Jonathan Salter and Erik Nygaard, who lead the liquid and illiquid CRE businesses at Axonic. The combined teams have invested over $17 billion in commercial real estate transactions.
"I'm excited to join Axonic, a leader in the real estate space," said Jordan. "Their strong capabilities position them well to capitalize on the current opportunity in CRE." Jordan will maintain an advisory role at Taconic and will report to DeGiacinto and Weinstein.
Axonic Capital is an alternative asset manager founded in 2010, specializing in commercial real estate and structured credit. The firm manages approximately $6 billion in assets across private limited partnerships, separate accounts, and public mutual funds.
