P
rincesses Beatrice and Eugenie could inherit a vast fortune from their parents, including the £30 million Royal Lodge mansion. The Duke of York moved into the 30-bedroom property in 2004 and currently resides there with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. However, King Charles is said to have wanted Andrew out of the house for years.
A legal loophole means that Andrew could pass down the remaining lease to his daughters without voiding the agreement. Property expert Raj Chohan explained that as the Crown Estate is funded through taxes and Andrew no longer fulfills formal duties, the property would not form part of his estate. Instead, he is a sitting tenant paying £250 per week and maintaining the upkeep.
Andrew could leave the property to his daughters as an inheritance. The expert noted that Prince Andrew has expressed wishes to hand the property down to Beatrice and Eugenie, who would likely take it. However, this is still part of the Crown Estate, and the board of directors would decide the long-term plans.
The sisters are also beneficiaries of several trusts, including a multimillion-pound trust set up by their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, after their parents' divorce. It remains unclear whether Beatrice and Eugenie would risk a family feud over the Lodge, potentially jeopardizing their roles as confidantes to Prince William.
