Bergen County estate once owned by convicted felon hits market for $33 million

Crocker Mansion returns to market after seizure from billionaire fraudster in 2023.

T
he historic Crocker Mansion in Mahwah has been relisted on the market after being seized from billionaire Miles Guo in 2023. The 120-year-old estate boasts an impressive 58 rooms, four stories, and nearly 50,000 square feet of living space across its 12.5-acre property along the Ramapo Mountains. Privately listed for $33 million by Compass New Jersey agents Diane Cookson and Carl Gambino, the mansion features 21 bedrooms, 29 bathrooms, a grand great hall, library with gold leaf decor, marble staircases, an indoor spa, and more.

Built between 1901 and 1907 by railway heir George Crocker, the property also includes a tennis court, several fountains, and an eight-car garage. The listing describes it as "a truly magnificent and rare estate" just 25 miles from New York City. This comes after Guo's lavish lifestyle was dismantled when he was charged with cheating thousands of online followers out of over $1 billion through an elaborate scheme.

Guo initially purchased the mansion for $26 million in December 2021, making it the priciest home sold in New Jersey that year. The federal government seized not only the estate but also numerous other properties and assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars. In July, a jury found Guo guilty on nine counts of fraud and conspiracy, while acquitting him on three others.
