s we look to 2025, it's essential to prioritize our own education in real estate. As stewards of homeownership and business owners, we must continually increase our expertise and knowledge to stay ahead in this rapidly evolving industry.
To refresh my knowledge over the last year, I've pursued designations and certifications that have helped me better support buyers and sellers. The Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designations are excellent starting points for any career level. These courses teach systems to ensure you're meeting client needs and demonstrating value.
If you're looking to specialize in a niche area, there are industry-recognized designations and certifications available. For instance, the Green Designation can help you navigate energy-efficient appliances and solar features, while the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation caters to clients with maturing family members.
I've also invested time in expanding language offerings for homeownership accessibility through courses like those offered by the Realtors Real Estate School (RRES). This school is affiliated with the Chicago Association of REALTORS and provides opportunities for high-quality training, including "skill builder" courses that focus on specialized areas like property management basics and digital marketing.
Investing in yourself isn't a solo journey; turn to your peer communities for support. Leverage local associations and their resources to create the training you need as a Realtor. Attend industry events, such as our 2025 Market Outlook event on February 3, to gain knowledge and make connections with other professionals.
This year, I challenge you to prioritize your own expertise by investing time, energy, and money into education. Let's continue to provide value to our clients through our own growth and development.
