T
wo Miami-based real estate twins, Alon and Oren Alexander, are set to appear in federal court on sex-related charges. They face parallel state and federal cases, with the state's case alleging they lured and sexually assaulted multiple women in Miami, while the federal case accuses them of sex trafficking along with their older brother Tal Alexander. A judge denied Tal's bond last week, keeping him in custody.
The twins' attorney, Joel Denaro, expressed hope for their release, saying "Let it play out and we're going to have a hearing... And yes, we are confident." Last week, a judge agreed to release the twins on bail using their father's home as collateral for the state charges. However, they were transferred into federal custody before a scheduled bond hearing.
Meanwhile, Ohad Fisherman, a friend of the Alexanders and real estate broker, turned himself in to authorities after being accused of helping Oren and Alon Alexander sexually assault a woman during a 2016 New Year's Eve incident. He paid $25,000 bail and provided $260,000 collateral. Prosecutors said he has not been named in the federal case but are unsure what the FBI raids will bring.
The twins' combined bail is set at $50,000, with their father's home valued at $5 million as collateral. They are expected to appear before a federal judge on Thursday or Friday. Fisherman remains in custody and needs to be fitted for an ankle monitor before release.
