isco Systems is consolidating its Bay Area offices, closing five locations and relocating employees to a single site in Santana Row, San Jose. The company will shut down four offices in north San Jose and its Splunk subsidiary headquarters in San Francisco, moving workers to the six-story building occupied by Splunk at 3098 Olsen Drive. This move is set to begin on October 12.
Cisco will exit office buildings 260, 300, and 350 East Tasman Road, as well as buildings eight, nine, ten, and eleven at 3750 Zanker Road. The company's non-engineering staff will be relocated to the Splunk building in Santana Row, which it acquired for $28 billion in May.
Splunk will also close its San Francisco hub at 250 Brannan Street and upgrade its offices in Santana Row, taking up the entire building. A Cisco spokesperson cited the goal of bringing teams closer together to drive collaboration, improve cost efficiencies, and create an environment where employees can thrive.
The move follows Cisco's decision in August to lay off 7 percent of its global workforce, including 900 workers in the Bay Area. The Santana Row district is a 42-acre upscale development with offices, homes, restaurants, shops, and open space.
