Dartmouth College Partners with Developers to Build New Student Housing Facility

Dartmouth College breaks ground on new apartment-style residence for juniors and seniors.

D
artmouth College has broken ground on a new apartment-style residential hall at 25 West Wheelock Street in Hanover, NH. The project, designed by Cube 3, is part of President Sian Leah Beilock's pledge to add 1,000 new beds over the next decade.

The five-story building will provide 285 beds in two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, each featuring a full kitchen, living room, and ample storage space. The structure is being built on an approximately one-acre site on the north side of West Wheelock Street.

"We're excited to start construction on this residential hall," said Josh Keniston, Senior Vice President of Capital Planning and Campus Operations at Dartmouth. "This project addresses a critical need for more housing on campus."

The building prioritizes health, wellness, and sustainability, aiming for LEED Gold certification and net carbon-neutrality through the use of sustainable energy sources and high-performance materials.

"We're proud to partner with Dartmouth on this significant project," said John Stebbins, CEO of PROCON. "Our team is dedicated to delivering a facility that meets Dartmouth's housing goals while reflecting their commitment to sustainability and student well-being."

Construction begins in October, with an anticipated completion date set for summer 2026. This project is part of Dartmouth's broader efforts to meet its students' housing needs and provide additional housing for graduate and professional students, as well as faculty and staff.
