etroit’s affordable housing has drawn first‑time investors, placing the city ninth in a new LLC Attorney ranking of the best U.S. markets for newcomers. The study examined the 100 largest cities, scoring the top 50 on rental‑return potential and landlord‑friendly rules. Scores were based on a 50‑point scale: 35 points for rental income (average rent, median sale price, gross yield, market temperature) and 15 for landlord‑friendly laws (eviction time, security‑deposit limits, rent‑control presence). Detroit’s low home prices and solid yield earned it the ninth spot, with an average rent of $1,200.
