Exclusive: Cabaret Legend Michael Feinstein Flips California Home for...

Feinstein & husband Terrence Flannery listed their West Hollywood spread for $4.49M in September.

M
ichael Feinstein and his husband, Terrence Flannery, recently sold their West Hollywood residence on Miller Drive for $3.7 million, according to Gimme Shelter. The couple had purchased the property in September 2024 for $2.72 million and then invested in a substantial renovation—cost undisclosed—before relisting it at $4.49 million later that month.

The four‑bedroom, four‑bath home spans 3,623 sq ft on a 0.12‑acre lot overlooking Sunset Boulevard. Its neutral palette, multiple fireplaces, and expansive windows create a warm, inviting atmosphere. A light‑filled wet bar opens onto a patio, while a spacious dining area and a chef’s kitchen that flows into the garden provide ample space for entertaining. The master suite upstairs boasts a fireplace, double walk‑in closets, and spa‑like baths, complemented by a media room and two additional guest rooms.

Renovations included reconfiguring the layout, converting a hallway into a den, and transforming a former maid’s room into a wet bar. The home’s foyer features hardwood floors and natural light, leading to a step‑down living room anchored by a fireplace. A lounge with a TV and a dining room add to the indoor versatility, while the outdoor space offers a shaded dining area, grill, gym, laundry room, and generous storage.

Idan Gould of Douglas Elliman, who listed the property, praised the renovation, noting that the house had solid foundations but needed work. “Their renovation is absolutely stunning, and I truly believe anyone can achieve great results with the right strategy in every market,” Gould said. He added that the couple made many thoughtful choices to bring the home to its current state.

In addition to their West Hollywood property, Feinstein and Flannery own residences on Central Park South and a property in Carmel, Indiana, near the Great American Songbook Foundation. Feinstein’s career began as an assistant to Ira Gershwin, and he has long championed the Great American Songbook—a collection of early‑20th‑century American classics by composers such as George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Cole Porter. The legacy of these works continues to evolve, according to Feinstein.
