hristopher Garcia, a former Trump administration official, has purchased Vice President JD Vance's previous home in Alexandria, Virginia. The 2,530-square-foot farmhouse was listed for $1.69 million after Vance relocated to the vice president's official residence at the US Naval Observatory.
Garcia secured the property through a limited liability company and paid $172,000 over the asking price, bringing the total to $1.87 million. The sale highlights a brisk market in the progressive-leaning Del Ray neighborhood.
In his government tenure, Garcia served as acting director of the Minority Business Development Agency from 2017 and later as acting deputy director under Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross until 2018. He was ousted amid security clearance disputes, which he has contested.
Since leaving public office, Garcia has built a lucrative career, registering as a lobbyist with the Livingston Group in 2019 and co-founding Health Supply US with his father during the pandemic. The company has secured $179 million in federal contracts, primarily with the Defense Department, including $51 million for COVID-19 relief.
Garcia's property portfolio also includes a $1.64 million home in Washington, DC, purchased in 2021, and another in North Carolina. The transaction was brokered by TTR Sotheby's International Realty for Vance and Re/Max Allegiance for Garcia.
