Mixed-use developments in Frisco by Blue Star Land and Wilks Development are moving forward with potential approvals this week.

M
ixed-use developments in Frisco are gaining momentum, with key approvals expected this week for two major projects. Firefly Park, a 217-acre development by Wilks Development, and a neighboring project proposed by Blue Star Land could start construction soon.

Firefly Park, located at the intersection of U.S. 380 and Dallas North Tollway, will feature 3 million square feet of office space, 400,000 square feet of retail, 1,200 hotel keys, and 2,170 residential units. The development has been in the works since 2015 and is now moving forward with infrastructure construction underway.

Blue Star Land's project near The Star at Frisco will include 158 multifamily units, a hotel, office buildings, and parking garages. This mixed-use district already houses the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters and is expected to attract more businesses and residents to the area.

Frisco's rapid growth has made its real estate market one of the fastest-growing in Texas. The city added over 18,000 residents between 2020 and 2023, and other major developments are underway, including a Universal Studios theme park and several large-scale projects like Hall Park and The Mix.
