avin Swartzman, former CEO of Peerage Realty Partners, has joined Christie's International Real Estate as president. The company announced the appointment today, marking a return to leadership for Swartzman after a brief hiatus. He led Peerage, the No. 10 U.S. brokerage by sales volume, for over a decade before stepping down in April and being replaced by Tara Brown.
Swartzman's new role will focus on Christie's global expansion and strategy. The network spans over 100 affiliates across 50 countries and territories, with plans to accelerate growth following Compass' acquisition of @properties and CIRE in January. Thad Wong, co-CEO of @properties and CIRE, hailed Swartzman's appointment as a "dream scenario" due to his extensive experience in the industry.
Swartzman replaces former Co-presidents Natalie Hamrick and Kevin Van Eck, who held the role since 2023. This marks Christie's third presidential shuffle in four years, following Chris Lim's tenure as president of CIRE from 2021 to 2023.
