Geauga County Pushes Back First Half 2024 Real Estate Tax Payment Deadline

Geauga County taxpayers have until Feb. 26, 2025 to pay first-half 2024 real estate tax bill.

G
eauga County taxpayers will have until February 26, 2025, to pay their first-half 2024 real estate tax bill. This extended deadline is intended to give residents ample time to plan for one of the largest annual expenses they face.

According to Geauga County Treasurer Christopher P. Hitchcock, the decision to extend the payment due date was made in response to factors outside the county's control that delayed the mailing of tax bills. The amended tax rates, which were certified on January 15 after the dissolution of Aquilla Village and its absorption into Claridon Township, have been sent to the printer and are expected to be mailed within the next 10 days.

Taxpayers who cannot wait for their bill in the mail can access a duplicate copy online at www.geaugatax.com or by contacting the treasurer's office. Payments can be made via cash, money order, check, or credit card by calling 1-855-782-3909 or visiting the website (a convenience fee applies to credit card transactions). For those struggling to make full payment, several options are available, and information can be obtained by contacting the Geauga County Treasurer's Office at 440-279-2000.
