Greater Boston Real Estate Board selects Jackie McCarthy as new leader

Real estate industry seeks unified voice on Beacon Hill, advocates say.

T
he Greater Boston Real Estate Board has appointed Jackie McCarthy as its director of government affairs. According to GBREB CEO Greg Vasil, McCarthy's extensive experience and expertise made her the ideal candidate for the position. "Members can be confident that Jackie will advocate tirelessly on their behalf at the state house and in local city halls," he said.

McCarthy joined the association in June, bringing with her a background in regulatory affairs from JSI Inc., a national telecommunications firm. She also holds a juris doctorate from Emory University School of Law. In a statement, McCarthy emphasized the need for a strong voice representing the real estate industry on Beacon Hill, particularly in addressing housing shortages and record-high office vacancy rates.

"I look forward to working with Realtors, owners, and brokers across Greater Boston's diverse communities," McCarthy said. "Together, we can ensure their voices are heard at both the state and local levels."
