Greenville Real Estate Broker Charged with Triple Homicide

Greenville real estate broker arrested in connection with triple homicide.

A
Greenville, North Carolina real estate broker has been arrested in connection with a triple homicide. The suspect, David Lever, 55, was taken into custody on Friday after three people were shot and killed at two different locations.

According to police, Anthony Gribble, 80, and his wife Paula Gribble, 76, as well as Eenrique Reyes, 64, were all found dead with gunshot wounds. The victims' adult son called 911 to report the deaths and held Lever at gunpoint until police arrived.

Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance said there was a possibility that more people could have been killed if the son hadn't intervened. She also revealed a timeline of events, including an incident where Lever fired shots from his van as he drove away from a gas station.

Lever's neighbors reported hearing gunfire and seeing bullet holes in another home in the neighborhood. They described Lever as a business owner who operated Realty World in Greenville and believed each murder was targeted.

The sheriff called the acts "egregious" and said there is no known relationship between Lever and the victims. Lever has been charged with three counts of open murder and is being held in the Pit County Detention Center without bond. Additional charges are pending, but the sheriff declined to comment on Lever's mental state.
