illtown Township has once again set a record by approving a 2025 budget with no tax increase for the 14th consecutive year. According to the Bucks County Herald, the Hilltown Board of Supervisors gave preliminary approval to the budget, which will maintain a millage rate of 8.75 mills.
To understand how property taxes are calculated in Hilltown Township, it's essential to know that they're based on two factors: the assessed value of your property and the millage rate set by each taxing authority. The amount of assessment determines your tax liability, while the millage rate is the percentage used to calculate property taxes.
For example, if your Hilltown property is assessed at $200,000, you can expect a municipal real estate tax bill of $1,750 for 2025, calculated by multiplying the assessment by the millage rate and dividing by 1,000. Other tax rates will remain unchanged, including the earned income tax at 0.5%.
