HomeServices' New Leader Vows to Regain Momentum

Chris Kelly looks to unite and grow the company, prioritizing agents and consumers.

C
hris Kelly is eager to move past the challenges of the past 18 months and focus on unifying and growing HomeServices of America, with agents and consumers at its core. As president and CEO, Kelly will oversee day-to-day operations while longtime leader Gino Blefari takes on an advisory role.

With commissions litigation behind them, Kelly sees a chance to "get back to growth mode" and help agents do business in a more simplified way. He also wants to tackle industry issues like Clear Cooperation, believing that the company should be adaptive to local markets and what makes sense for sellers.

Kelly's first priority is bringing HomeServices' diverse brands closer together to benefit agents and consumers. He plans to build out his leadership team and focus on making life easier for both groups through technology upgrades and a more streamlined business model.

"We want our technology backbone to better support that particular model for the consumer and for our agents," Kelly said, emphasizing the company's commitment to providing an all-inclusive experience. "We help them do business in an easier, more simplified fashion."

Kelly also hopes to take on a leadership role in industry discussions, tackling problems like Clear Cooperation with other leaders. He believes that local markets require flexibility, and that imposing top-down rules can be counterproductive.

"We want to be adaptive to the markets and what makes sense for that seller," Kelly said. "We have thoughts on how the industry should be approaching the problem, but we value the entrepreneurial spirit of our agents and their business acumen."

With Blefari's guidance, Kelly is ready to move forward and build on the company's success.
