ionel Messi's Real Estate Portfolio Valued at $232 Million. The Inter Miami Star Owns Hotels, Commercial Properties and Homes.
Bloomberg reported that Lionel Messi has listed his Spanish real estate properties on the digital-only Portfolio Stock Exchange as a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust), valuing them at $232 million. His company, Edificio Rostower Socimi, comprises seven hotels, shops, offices, and houses. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Messi is close to billionaire status and likely listed his assets for tax purposes, taking advantage of Spain's lower REIT taxes.
Messi spent most of his career in Spain playing for FC Barcelona, thus most of his real estate holdings are based there. He has also been buying luxury U.S. real estate, including a $10.75 million waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale and three condos in the Miami suburbs. In addition, he owns a home in his hometown of Rosario in Argentina.
As one of the wealthiest soccer players in the world, Messi's wealth is largely influenced by endorsements. According to Sportico, he has earned $1.2 billion in salary, bonuses, and endorsements throughout his career. His lifetime deal with Adidas, signed in 2017, is estimated to be worth $1 billion, including a revenue-sharing element that compensates him for jersey sales and other apparel.
