He completed over 25 million square feet of commercial/industrial transactions in a 63-year career.

M
orton "Mort" Glick, a veteran commercial real estate broker, has passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 89. With over six decades in the industry, Glick completed an impressive 25 million square feet of transactions for major clients such as BJ's Wholesale Club and HiTech Pharmacal.

Glick began his career in 1962 with Greiner-Maltz and later co-founded Penguin Realty in 1965 with colleagues Joel Gersten and Ken Smith. After Penguin closed, he joined Kreindler Associates, where he completed significant deals for BJ's Wholesale and HiTech Pharmacal. In 1998, Grubb & Ellis acquired the company, but Glick continued to thrive, joining Metro Realty in 2007.

Colleagues at Metro Realty remember Glick as a pillar of the Long Island commercial real estate community who left an indelible mark. "Mort was instrumental in my career, showing me the ropes and guiding me along the way," said Anthony Garistina, a former colleague. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Glick is survived by his sons Jeffrey and Ronald, as well as many friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
