Marcus Partners names Alex Schaefer MD, Investments, to lead Metro New York acquisitions.

arcus Partners has named Alex Schaefer Managing Director of Investments, positioning him to lead acquisition efforts throughout the Metro New York region. Operating from the firm’s Tri‑State office, Schaefer will target industrial and multifamily deals across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, collaborating closely with Principal Bill McAvoy who currently heads regional acquisitions.

    Partner and Chief Investment Officer Ryan McDonough praised Schaefer’s arrival: “His deep market insight and proven track record will strengthen our already robust performance. The addition of a seasoned on‑site professional aligns with our strategy to embed local expertise in key markets.”

    Schaefer brings more than 15 years of real‑estate investment experience. He most recently served as Vice President of Investments at AXA Investment Managers, where he sourced and closed over $3 billion in transactions, including 2,000 multifamily units and 31 logistics assets worth more than $2 billion. Earlier, he held senior acquisition roles at TKF Real Estate Investment, ALTO Real Estate Funds, and VEREIT, Inc., and began his career with Cushman & Wakefield. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.

    His appointment underscores Marcus Partners’ focus on expanding its industrial and multifamily footprint along the East Coast, emphasizing disciplined, locally driven execution and relationship‑centric investing.
