A
s allegations of rape and sexual assault against the Alexander brothers continue to mount, connections to South Florida are becoming increasingly clear. Four out of 11 women who filed civil lawsuits in New York state court this week accusing two of the three brothers of rape and sexual assault claim that the incidents occurred in Miami. All of these women reported being drugged without their consent.
The twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 37, and their 38-year-old brother Tal were arrested at their Miami Beach homes last December on state and federal charges related to rape and sex trafficking. They are currently jailed in New York. The brothers' attorneys have denied the allegations, stating that any intimate relations were consensual.
Law firms and legal aid groups have placed ads on social media sites asking possible victims of the Alexander brothers to come forward. Andrew Van Arsdale, a lawyer who filed the recent lawsuits, said his office has been in touch with New York prosecutors and would urge any clients to testify at a potential criminal trial.
The Alexander brothers are awaiting trial in a Brooklyn federal jail after their bond requests were denied by judges in Miami and New York. Investigators say they transported women across state lines, often drugging them before raping them. Since the December arrests, an additional 60 women have come forward with credible accusations, potentially leading to new criminal charges.
The total number of cases accusing the brothers of sexual assault now stands at 17, including one filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court in January. The most recent lawsuits claim that the acts took place between 2011 and 2018 in New York, Moscow, and Miami. A woman who filed a suit in Miami-Dade claims Tal sexually assaulted her at Oren's home after a dinner party in 2021.
Tal's attorney has denied the allegations, stating that they are an attempt to fabricate stories for financial gain. The Alexander brothers' arrests made international headlines last December, with Oren and Tal being high-flying luxury real estate moguls who often appeared in New York tabloids. Alon was an executive at Kent Security, a firm founded by the family over three decades ago.
A friend of the brothers, Ohad Fisherman, was also arrested on sex crime charges after allegedly participating in the rape of a woman with Oren and Alon. If convicted, the Alexander brothers could spend the rest of their lives in prison.
