rt Basel Miami Beach is one of the most prominent art fairs globally, drawing in top collectors, curators, galleries, and real estate professionals. For developers and brokers, it's an ideal opportunity to showcase properties and build relationships with potential clients. Despite fewer brokerages sponsoring events this year, they're still capitalizing on the week-long festivities by hosting private gatherings, panel talks, exhibits, and more.
Developers are unveiling new concepts, such as private clubs and public art installations in neighborhoods like Wynwood and the Miami Design District. One Sotheby's International Realty is sponsoring Art Basel for the second consecutive year, with a VIP art gallery at its Miami Beach office and various events throughout the week. The company aims to reach potential clients through digital marketing and curated experiences.
Brokers are also leveraging the event to connect with high-end clients. Arushi Kapoor, co-founder of Agency Art House, is hosting personalized art tours and panel discussions to help build her clients' art collections as alternative assets. Many agents are playing concierge to their well-heeled clients, planning dinners and attending exhibits and fairs.
Developers are using the momentum from Miami Art Week to unveil plans for their projects. The Ritz-Carlton Residences, South Beach, kicked off the week with an art installation created by Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya. Other developers, such as Michael Shvo and Edgardo Defortuna, are hosting private dinners and events at their properties.
Condo developer Jorge Pérez unveiled a new exhibit at his private collection in Miami's Allapattah, featuring artwork from over 120 artists. Developers outside of South Florida, like Juniper Capital and Capital United, are also taking advantage of the buyers in town by unveiling plans for a luxury Auberge-branded residential project in Puerto Rico called Moncayo.
