This role requires a driven individual who excels at sourcing, is comfortable working with data and public records, and has a knack for telling stories that put the news in context. You'll be responsible for breaking news, writing features about key players and issues, and crafting longer-form journalism pieces that delve into the forces shaping our community.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from daily updates to in-depth investigations. You'll need to be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a strong ability to build relationships with high-level executives and other community leaders. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, as well as a passion for storytelling and a commitment to journalistic ethics.

**Job Requirements:**
* Build a strong source network to stay ahead of the story
* Report and write short-form and long-form stories for our website and print edition
* Own your beat, driving day-to-day coverage and scooping competitors on significant stories
* Develop sources and manage relationships with high-level executives and community leaders
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Strong analytical and interviewing skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Proficient in MS Office products and web-based communication platforms
