cGonagle's Pub & Restaurant is set to bring a modern take on traditional Irish pubs to Dorchester, an area rich in Irish heritage. The brainchild of Oran McGonagle, William McCarthy, and Chef Aidan McGee, the team behind The Dubliner, this new venture will open its doors at 367 Neponset Avenue later this fall.
"We want McGonagle's to be your go-to spot for casual meals with friends and family, as well as special occasions," says Oran McGonagle. "Our space is perfect for dining solo or gathering with a group." The pub promises an authentic Irish experience, complete with delicious bites and drinks, live music from local and international talent, and sports on two large projector screens.
A significant investment of over $1 million has gone into transforming the space at 367 Neponset Avenue. "We stripped everything down to create a truly authentic Irish bar experience," explains Oran McGonagle. The result is a beautifully renovated pub with new bars, bathrooms, kitchen, and furniture package. The first floor features a classic neighborhood pub, while the lower level boasts a large bar, restaurant, and live music stage, accommodating up to 235 people. The space is adorned with Irish posters and memorabilia, adding to its nostalgic charm.
