P
roof School, a private academy for math-loving middle and high school students, has leased 35,000 square feet in a 16-story office building at 221 Main Street in San Francisco. The school plans to move from its current location to the new space by the 2026-2027 academic year, doubling its footprint in Downtown San Francisco. The move was made possible due to decreasing rents caused by high office vacancy rates and a shift to remote work. Other tenants in the building include DocuSign and Prosper. San Francisco Mayor London Breed has been trying to attract colleges and universities to Downtown to revitalize the area. Columbia Property Trust, the landlord, is nearing completion on an expanded amenity program for the building.
