New Spots: Bonchon Lands at Moxy South Beach, Carmela Coffee Expands to WPB

onchon, a Korean fried chicken restaurant, will open at the Moxy Miami South Beach hotel by year-end. The restaurant leased 2,900 square feet at 915 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Founder Jinduk Seo established Bonchon in Busan, South Korea in 2002 and has since expanded globally, known for its hand-battered, double-fried chicken.

    Carmela Coffee opened in downtown West Palm Beach, leasing about 1,800 square feet at 319 Clematis Street. The coffee shop sources beans from Costa Rican farms prioritizing sustainable and ethical practices. Boca Raton-based Morning Calm Management owns the Comeau Building, where Carmela Coffee is located.

    Three restaurants debuted at Downtown Doral's Doral Yard: Tacotomía, a Mexican eatery; Big Baby, a Venezuelan restaurant; and Oakberry Açaí. Each leased 160 square feet. Coral Gables-based Codina Partners developed the 250-acre mixed-use project, which includes shops, restaurants, offices, residential units, schools, and the Doral Government Center.

    MySpot, a pediatric therapy provider, leased 12,100 square feet for its headquarters at Miramar Park of Commerce. Memorial Healthcare System expanded by 26,500 square feet, bringing its total to over 200,000 square feet. Simtec Silicone Parts increased its space by 39,700 square feet, and Sunshine Avionics expanded by 14,600 square feet.

    The Ansin family's Sunbeam Properties & Development secured new tenants and lease expansions at Miramar Park of Commerce, a campus home to over 180 companies, including Spirit Airlines and Humana.
