eth Jacob Phillips, aka @DudeWithSign, has left his mark on the East Village with a witty cardboard commentary that's gone viral. His former rental, a 800-square-foot loft in the Theatre Condominium, is now available for $5,950 a month starting February 3.
The one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit features an open layout with vaulted 12-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in plenty of natural light. The loft also boasts double-paned glass "city-quiet" windows, a washer/dryer, and ample closet space.
A galley kitchen is perfect for those who prefer cooking over takeout, although the previous renter, Phillips, has admitted to not being much of a cook. There's also a separate kitchen area with granite countertops and a dishwasher.
The Theatre Condominium, a five-story boutique building dating back to 1920, offers a landscaped common roof deck and video intercom security system. The listing broker is Douglas Elliman's Lila Nejad, who sold the unit to its current owner 10 years ago and has been renting it out since.
Phillips' former rental was previously listed for $5,750 a month when he moved in last October.
