A
ussie mortgage broker Kobe Clarke-Jacobs has revealed a little-known hack to find out the price guide of properties listed online. When browsing property listings, buyers often come across listings with no asking price, instead prompting interested parties to contact the agent or submit an offer. This tactic can be frustrating for buyers who need to call the real estate agent to gather more information.
However, Clarke-Jacobs notes that Victorian properties are required by law to display a selling price on listings, whereas other states and territories have different rules. She believes it should be mandatory for all listings to disclose prices online.
Fortunately, there's an easy way to access the price range of a property listed on realestate.com.au. By using keyboard shortcuts (Command-Option-U on Mac or Control-F on Windows), buyers can view the marketing range entered by the listing agent. This range gives a rough idea of the property's estimated value.
Real estate agents list properties without prices for various reasons, including to gauge interest and gather market feedback. Clarke-Jacobs thinks listings should be required to include price ranges to provide transparency for buyers.
