Palm Beach Estate on Billionaire‑Favored Street Hits $185M

Billionaires flocked to Palm Beach in the last decade, where the ultra‑expensive real estate market stays bulletproof.

$
185 million waterfront estate on 2 acres in Palm Beach, 911 N. Ocean Blvd., known locally as the Goodman Estate, is now on the market. The property features a 24,000‑sq‑ft main house, a guest house, a tennis court, and a resort‑style pool. The main residence, built by late developer Murray H. Goodman and his wife Joanie in the 1970s, boasts 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, marble floors, a fireplace, and a wet bar. The 2.5‑acre lot includes 250 ft of shoreline.

The estate’s history dates back to the 1920s when it was part of the Playa Riente property. It retains a balustraded wall designed by Addison Mizner, a famed Florida mansion architect, even though the original house was demolished in the 1950s.

Since its purchase in 1974 for $350,000, the property’s value has surged by 52,757%, according to the Palm Beach Daily News. The listing, handled by Marley Overman of Illustrated Properties and Gary Pohrer of Serhant, notes that the new owner could choose to preserve or replace the existing structures.
