Partnership Forms for Sustainable Transportation Hub in Boston

Waltham, MA - Mass Mobility Hub Announces 5-Year Partnership for Sustainable Transportation System.

T
he Mass Mobility Hub (MMH) has partnered with BXP, a leading real estate company, to launch an innovative transportation hub in Waltham's Route 128 tech belt. The five-year partnership will bring together industries such as electric vehicles, clean-energy charging solutions, and e-bikes under one roof, offering office and laboratory space, as well as potential outdoor testing zones.

Located within BXP's CityPoint development near the Route 128 Winter Street interchange, the hub aims to attract companies working on sustainable transportation technologies. Massachusetts already has over 100 mobility-related companies, and MMH Executive Director Jamey Tesler believes the state can become a national leader in emissions-free transportation.

BXP is committed to sustainable practices and sees this partnership as an opportunity to drive positive impact. The company will make its properties available to MMH partners across the Bay State. MMH has three active pilot projects, focusing on mobile battery, fleet electrification, and EVs, with potential uses for the new hub including large test zones, charging equipment, and school bus electrification pilots.

The partnership is expected to boost Massachusetts' position as a leader in mobility innovation, echoing Will Graylin's CEO of Indigo Technologies, who sees Waltham as a nucleus for scaling up clean transportation technologies. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has recognized the need for test and demonstration sites in the climate tech ecosystem, highlighting the potential for this hub to drive progress towards sustainable transportation.
