Rebecca Mandel met Oren Alexander and his twin brother Alon at a Manhattan nightclub in 2009, when she was 18. They frequently ran into each other at high-end restaurants and social gatherings; Oren had already made a name for himself in luxury real estate by his early 20s. One night in 2010, the twins convinced Mandel to attend a party at their apartment in Chelsea, but it turned out to be an ambush. They allegedly held her down and took turns raping her.
Mandel is one of over 40 women who have come forward with similar accusations against the Alexander brothers, now 37, and their older brother Tal. Three other women have filed civil lawsuits, while federal authorities in New York's Southern District indicted Oren, Alon, and Tal on sex trafficking charges. Prosecutors allege that for nearly two decades, the three brothers worked together to traffic and rape dozens of women, often drugging them.
The brothers' alleged victims describe scenarios where they were lured into situations with false promises or manipulated into staying at their homes. In one instance, a woman was invited to a party in the Hamptons but was instead taken to a castle owned by Ivan Wilzig, where she was raped by Oren and Alon.
The Alexander brothers rose to fame as real estate brokers in New York City, representing clients like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. However, their success came at a cost: multiple women have accused them of using their wealth and status to silence their victims.
Federal prosecutors say the brothers paid for transportation and accommodations for women they intended to rape, often using social media and dating apps to meet potential victims. They also allegedly used group chats to arrange these encounters, with Oren once responding to a message saying "Just warn him ur boys are hungry."
The brothers' alleged crimes date back to their high school days in Miami, where they reportedly bragged about gang rape. One of the women who accused them said she was 14 when she was raped by a group of boys including Oren and Alon.
Tal Alexander's lawyer, Deanna Paul, denied the allegations, saying "We will continue fighting to prove that Tal did not commit a crime." Oren's lawyer, Susan Necheles, also denied the charges, stating "Oren Alexander is innocent. The evidence will show that neither he nor his brothers ever committed a crime."
The three brothers are currently in federal detention in Miami while awaiting trial.
