Record-Breaking Single-Family Home Sale Sets New Mark in Exclusive Short Hills Neighborhood

Essex County real estate market ends 2024 with record-breaking sale in Short Hills.

A
Short Hills estate has shattered the town's record for most expensive single-family home sale after selling for $8.25 million on December 11. The luxury property at 15 Hillside Ave. was listed by Anthony Verducci and Cristian Perez of The NJ Luxury Real Estate Group, who also set the previous record with two properties on Hartshorn Drive in October.

The estate's record-breaking sale price is attributed to its prime location, impeccable design, and unmatched amenities. "The combination of its location, design, and luxury features created a high level of demand that drove the record sale price," Perez said. The sellers were ready for a new project and wanted to build a similar home on a smaller scale, which coincided with strong buyer interest.

Located on 1.82 acres near South Mountain Reservation, this extravagant home boasts nearly 13,000 square feet of living space. Built in 2017 by renowned architect Timothy Klesse, the property features seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and an open-concept kitchen with high-end appliances. The expansive primary suite includes a private balcony and spa-like bathroom.

The home's outdoor amenities include a covered porch, outdoor kitchen, in-ground pool, sports court, and beautifully landscaped property. Perez noted that they were confident the home would attract buyers due to its offerings, but did not anticipate the level of interest it received. The property went under contract within a week of being listed for sale.

"Selling the most expensive home in Short Hills and Essex County this year was an exciting milestone," Perez said. "The combination of our sellers' readiness and high buyer interest made for an extraordinary result."
