Meet the musician-turned-real-estate-agent with a unique property portfolio.

H
ere are 11 rock and metal musicians who have successfully transitioned into real estate careers. Many of them found that the flexibility and entrepreneurial spirit of real estate aligned perfectly with their touring schedules and creative backgrounds. Hatebreed bassist Chris Beattie has been buying and flipping houses since the early 2000s, but it wasn't until the pandemic forced him to take a break from touring that he decided to get his real estate license.

"I decided to actually take the test and get my license when touring stopped," Beattie said. Today, he works as a real estate agent with Maverick Realty in Windsor, Connecticut, while still touring with Hatebreed. Former Senses Fail bassist Greg Styliades also started pursuing a career in real estate while on tour, inspired by the experience of buying his first house in 2017.

"I enjoyed seeing different houses and thought to myself, 'I could do this,'" Styliades said. "I was working at a collection agency between tours and that was miserable." He now works as a full-time agent in Buffalo, New York, using his creative skills to market properties with unique approaches like dad jokes and Freddy Krueger masks.

For The Fallen Dreams guitarist Jim Hocking also made the leap from music to real estate in 2020. "Real estate offered an entrepreneurial model that gave me control over my schedule, allowed me to work directly with people, and give me the opportunity to solve real-world challenges creatively," he said.

Rock musicians turned real estate agents in various US cities nationwide.
