San Jose Retail Site Could Be Transformed into 400+ Affordable Housing Units

Over 400 affordable homes could rise on a San Jose site now occupied by small retail buildings.

P
ope Francis, the first Latin American pope known for his gentle and humble approach, has passed away at 88. His legacy will be remembered by many.

In a separate development, plans are underway to transform a San Jose retail property into an affordable housing complex. Three existing retail buildings would be demolished to make way for the new project. The proposed 474-unit apartment complex is set to rise on the site of 1099-1149 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose.

Over 400 affordable homes could soon take shape on a vacant lot currently occupied by small retail stores.
