Sheboygan County Real Estate Market: Regional Strengths and Local Challenges

Sheboygan County real estate market outperformed surrounding counties in March, despite overall trends.

S
heboygan County's real estate landscape defied the trend of sluggish growth in surrounding areas, but beneath the surface, market pressures persist. A recent report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association reveals that the median home price in Sheboygan County remained steady at $279,950 in March, a testament to stability amidst regional fluctuations.

While neighboring counties experienced notable increases, higher interest rates are being cited as a primary culprit behind a 8% decline in sales for local realtors. The inventory of available homes has grown, however, with Sheboygan County boasting a 2.6 month supply – a 13% boost from last year's numbers.

The average days on the market have also lengthened, with properties taking an average of 78 days to sell, up from 56 days in the previous year. This represents the most significant increase within the region, where homes are now lingering on the market for nearly two weeks longer than they were a year ago.

In contrast to Sheboygan County's stable median price, surrounding areas exhibit varying degrees of growth and decline. Ozaukee County stands out as the priciest destination, with an average home price of $475,000, while Manitowoc County remains the most affordable option at $205,000 – a stark difference that underscores regional disparities in the local real estate market.
