Sherry Chris Joins NAR as Executive Advisor

Industry Veteran Joins National Association of Realtors as Support for CEO Nykia Wright.

S
herry Chris, a veteran of the real estate industry, has taken on a new role as an independent consultant and special advisor to National Association of Realtors (NAR) CEO Nykia Wright. This move comes just two weeks after Chris left her position at Anywhere Real Estate, where she spent 20 years.

In her new capacity, Chris will focus on supporting Wright in strengthening relationships with brokerage leaders, building trust, and enhancing collaboration. This effort is crucial as NAR navigates a period of flux, following the unexpected departure of President Kevin Sears in early 2024 and Wright's appointment as CEO in August.

Chris brings extensive experience to this role, having overseen the launch of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate in 2008, which expanded across six countries and 40 US states. She also played a key role in ERA's growth to 43 US states and 34 countries during her tenure.

NAR leaders highlighted Chris' ability to build relationships and foster collaboration as essential assets for the organization at this critical juncture. Wright noted that Chris' well-informed perspective on the real estate brokerage landscape will be invaluable in driving stronger alignment across the sector.

Chris has a long history of advocacy work, including serving as chair of NAR's Real Estate Services Advisory Group and The Realty Alliance. She is also a founding corporate member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and a member of AREAA. In her new role, Chris aims to drive trust, value, and collaboration for key stakeholders in real estate.

"I am honored to work alongside Nykia and the leadership team at NAR during such an important time for our industry," Chris said. "My goal is to make a positive impact and support the organization's efforts to strengthen relationships with brokerages."
