nell & Wilmer has expanded its presence in Costa Mesa with a significant lease at Plaza Tower. The Phoenix-based law firm took three floors totaling 57,300 square feet, increasing its footprint by 8% in the building owned by C.J. Segerstrom & Sons. This deal is one of the largest office leases in Orange County this year.
Representing Snell & Wilmer were CBRE brokers Kevin Bender and Charles Nixon, while Robert Lambert and Rick Kaplan from Cushman & Wakefield represented an affiliate of C.J. Segerstrom. The firm has occupied 53,000 square feet at Plaza Tower since 2004 and is expanding by another 4,300 square feet.
"We value our long-standing relationship with the Segerstrom family and the quality of the South Coast Plaza area," said Jon Frank, a partner at Snell & Wilmer. The law firm has over 500 attorneys in the US and Mexico and ranks 110th largest in the country by the National Law Journal.
This lease is notable as it trails only a recent renewal by Latham & Watkins, which leased nearly 66,000 square feet nearby in Center Tower. C.J. Segerstrom owns both Plaza Tower and Center Tower, located on the same block as South Coast Plaza.
