S
ound Summit, a beloved Bay Area institution, returns to Mill Valley's Mountain Theater on September 13 for its 10th anniversary. Produced by Roots & Branches Conservancy since 2015, the event has become known for its commitment to environmental preservation and world-class music. This year's lineup honors Sound Summit's roots with Cake, who headlined the inaugural Mount Tam Jam in 2013.
The festival donates all proceeds back to Mount Tamalpais State Park, allowing attendees to enjoy stunning views of the mountain and bay while listening to a diverse range of acts. In addition to Cake, indie rock powerhouses Alvvays and Real Estate will perform alongside rising folk rockers Wolf Jett. A highlight of the event is "Stand!", a tribute to Sly Stone featuring blues icon Taj Mahal, fusion singer-songwriter Narada Michael Walden, and other Bay Area legends.
"We're excited to return to our roots for this milestone," said founding producer Michael Nash. "Cake is thrilled to be back, and curating this celebration of Sly's legacy has been a joy." Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. PT; visit soundsummit.net for more information.
