herme Group, an Austrian company, has chosen Dallas as the location for its first US wellness resort. The $800 million project will be situated on 24 acres along South Riverfront Boulevard near the Cedars neighborhood, offering stunning skyline views and proximity to future parks.
The 500,000-square-foot resort will feature thermal baths, saunas, mineral pools, restaurants, and a beach-like atmosphere with zones for relaxation, play, and restoration. It's expected to attract 2 million visitors annually and create 1,300 permanent jobs. The location is adjacent to the upcoming Water Commons urban wetlands park and Harold Simmons Park.
Therme explored other locations in Texas and Florida before selecting Dallas due to its connectivity, skyline views, and potential for public-private partnerships. The resort will include a retractable glass roof, swim-up bars, and environmentally friendly infrastructure such as geothermal heating and 80% water recycling.
Construction could begin as early as 2027 pending city approval. Therme has a purchase agreement contingent on entitlements with Matthews Southwest, the landowner. If built, Therme Dallas will be the company's first US location, with plans to bring 10 wellness resorts to the country over the next decade.
