T
he Ulster County Economic Development Alliance (UCEDA) held an emergency meeting on Tuesday, sparking concerns about transparency regarding real estate projects at iPark 87. The agenda hinted at old business and iPark-related matters, but the board quickly went into executive session once a quorum was reached. Chair Rev. Greg Simpson suggested that the closed-door discussion would provide "marching orders" for next steps with iPark.
After emerging from the over twenty-minute executive session, the board proposed writing a letter to iPark 87 seeking clarification on plans for two parts of the campus in Ulster Town. Board members justified blocking public access by citing real estate and business transactions involved. When pressed for details, UCEDA Director Kevin Lynch provided vague information, directing further questions to the board's lawyers.
Mid-Hudson News has filed a FOIL request for correspondence between the alliance and National Resources, iPark 87's owner. The company's future development plans and property payment information remain unclear following the death of its president, Joe Cotter, in October 2024.
