ealthcare consultancy Vizient has significantly expanded its presence at the historic Old Post Office, adding 50,000 square feet to its lease. The Texas-based company now occupies nearly 190,000 square feet, making it one of the largest tenants in the 2.3 million-square-foot landmark. This expansion comes despite a broader trend of office downsizing in downtown Chicago, where remote work has led to an exodus of tenants and vacancy rates have risen.
Vizient's growth is linked to its recent acquisition of Chicago-based Kaufman Hall, a healthcare advisory firm. The company aims to create a hybrid work environment that supports recruitment and retention efforts, with the centrally located office offering high amenities. Uber remains the largest tenant at the Old Post Office, holding 364,000 square feet under a lease until June 2030.
Vizient's expansion is its second since moving to the site in 2022, when it initially leased over 110,000 square feet. The company's president and CEO, Byron Jobe, has overseen this growth, which places Vizient on par with other major tenants like PepsiCo and Cboe Global Markets.
