rime Minister Anthony Albanese is adjusting his investment property strategy in response to the falling market. His Dulwich Hill townhouse, listed at $1.9m since September, now has a price guidance of $1.75m.
Albanese had previously signaled plans to "simplify his affairs" after announcing his engagement to Jodie Haydon, and had given eviction notice to his tenant in May. The property was initially expected to fetch around $1.3m when it was purchased in 2015 for $1.175m.
The Dulwich Hill median price has dropped from a record $2.27m in August to $2.21m over the past year, according to PropTrack data. Meanwhile, Albanese and his partner have secured a luxury Copacabana house for $4.3m, which they are now renting out for $1900-a-week.
The Dulwich Hill property was pulled from auction on October 11 after one serious buyer failed to meet the price. The marketing campaign has since revised its price guide to $1.85m.
